What your child will do

Every camp runs robotics and coding. The rest changes between camps on purpose, so a child who comes back gets something new. That means one week will not cover everything below, and some activities, like 3D printing and arcade builds, depend on the equipment at this venue.

Tell us what your child is hoping to do when you book and we will do our best to build it into the week.

Really worth the money and really fun. Staff are nice and really fun. If your kid likes robots and making games plus 3D printing, so worth the money.

What ages can attend?

Robocode Birmingham takes ages 6 to 17. Free HAF places are funded for ages 6 to 17. Children are grouped by age so every child works with kids at their level.

How do free HAF places work?

The Holiday Activities and Food programme funds free places for children who receive benefits-related free school meals. Your child needs a valid HAF code from the council or their school, and must live or attend school in the Birmingham council area. Book with the green Book HAF place button and enter the code.

How much does a day at Robocode Birmingham cost?

From £35 a day. Full packages are in the prices table on this page, and the exact price for the days you pick shows live while you book.

What should my child bring?

Just comfortable clothes, a named water bottle and curiosity. All tech equipment, laptops, kits and materials are provided. On warm days please apply sun cream before drop-off and send a hat: groups spend time outdoors.

Do the children ever leave the venue?

Sometimes. Camps may include a short, supervised walk to a local park or green space, with staff walking alongside the group the whole way. Not every venue does this, and it depends on the day and the weather. We ask your permission when you book, and children who are not taking part stay at the venue with a member of staff. You can change your answer at any time from your booking page, including during the camp.
